Yunnan Moonlight White gets its name from its curved, moon-like buds, sourced from the Yunnan Province in China. This tea has been picked from old tea trees in Jinggu Yunnan which is around 100 years old. It has a smooth, creamy texture and a clean, refreshing flavour. Our Yunnan Moonlight White is suitable for ageing and the flavour will shift over the coming months and years and become darker and closer in taste to a sweet black tea.

Yunnan Moonlight White | 雲南月光白

Yunnan Moonlight White, or ‘Yue Guang Bai’ gets its name from its curved, moon-like buds, sourced from the Yunnan Province in China. This tea has been picked from old tea trees in Jinggu Yunnan which is around 100 years old. The tea is picked during the day and then dried indoors with hot air. Withering fresh leaves and drying in this way does take longer time than drying in the sun but that gives the tea that extra level of oxidation and sweetness. It has a smooth, creamy texture and a clean, refreshing flavour. Our Yunnan Moonlight White is suitable for ageing and the flavour will shift over the coming months and years and become darker and closer in taste to a sweet black tea. 

雲南月光白,亦稱”月光白”,因其形狀彎曲、芽葉像月亮一樣而得這美名。雲南月光白採自中國雲南景谷中的老茶樹,這些老茶樹平均樹齡達100年,歷史悠久。月光白的茶葉通常在白天採摘,採摘後會將新鮮茶葉放置室內透過熱空氣進行乾燥。這種萎凋的過程比起一般在陽光下曬乾需要更長時間,能令茶葉有額外的氧化,以增加茶葉本身的甜度。月光白口感醇滑,清爽利落,帶有清幽的花香。我們的雲南月光白在陳存上是最適合不過了,味道於存置幾個月至數年即產生變化,使其顔色變得更深,更接近紅茶的味道。
