About
Imperial Royal Puerh | 宮廷普洱
Our Imperial Royal Puerh begins its journey on the misty slopes of Bulang Mountain in Yunnan, a region celebrated for its biodiverse tea gardens and rich puerh heritage. True to its “Imperial” or “Gong Ting” grade (premium first-grade), this tea is composed of finer, golden buds and tender leaves, which contribute to its exceptional smoothness and complex aroma. The brew presents a deep, ruby-red liquor with a profoundly earthy and comforting scent. The taste is remarkably clean and mellow, with layers of dark chocolate, sweet earth, and aromatic wood, culminating in a long, soothing, and sweet aftertaste that lingers pleasantly.
Unlike raw puerh (sheng), which requires decades of careful aging to mature, this ripe puerh (shou) undergoes a meticulous accelerated fermentation process known as “wo dui” (wet-piling). Developed to meet the demand for ready-to-drink aged puerh, this method involves piling high-quality leaves in a controlled, warm, and humid environment for several weeks. This carefully monitored process encourages microbial activity that rapidly breaks down the leaves, mellowing their character and developing the signature dark, rich liquor, earthy notes, and silky texture of a superior ripe puerh—allowing you to experience profound depth and smoothness without the long wait.
