About

Jasmine Phoenix Pearls | 茉莉鳳眼

Jasmine Phoenix Pearls are crafted through the prestigious “Four Scentings, One Finish” (四窨一提) process, where Fujian green tea is repeatedly scented with fresh jasmine blossoms from Hengzhou over roughly two weeks. This involves four rounds of scenting—each followed by a gentle bake to help the leaf absorb the aromatics—and a final, high flower-to-tea ratio finish to lock in brightness.

What truly distinguishes these pearls, however, is their elegant form: they are hand-rolled into slightly larger, looser “phoenix eye” pellets, designed to unfurl more gradually in the cup than classic dragon pearls. This intentional crafting allows for a softer, more measured release of aromatics and flavor development, showcasing the artistry behind scented teas.

After the final scenting, the spent blossoms are removed by hand to prevent bitterness, resulting in a pale-jade liquor with a vivid jasmine bouquet, delicate honeyed sweetness, hints of tender pea shoots, and a notably smooth, rounded finish.
