Classic Earthy Ripe Puerh 經典雲南熟普洱

Our Classic Earthy Ripe Puerh is made of high quality tea leaves from old tea trees in Jinggu Yunnan which is around 100 years old. Ripe puerh goes through an accelerated aging process called wet pilling. This process offers an alternative to having to wait ten to thirty years for the raw puerh to mature and achieve the aged flavor. Puerh is often considered the best tea after a heavy oily meal, which gives you a mellow and smooth aftertaste.

About

Classic Earthy Ripe Puerh | 經典雲南熟普洱

Harvested from over 100-year-old tea trees in Jinggu, Yunnan, this Classic Earthy Ripe Puerh (shu) delivers a classic earthy profile with a smooth, mellow finish. Crafted through carefully managed wet-piling (wo dui), it offers the comforting depth of aged raw puerh without decades of cellaring. Loose tea leaves are piled and sprayed with water then left to ferment in a hot and humid environment for months. This process offers an alternative to having to wait ten to thirty years for the raw puerh to mature and achieve the aged flavor, resulting in low astringency, silky body, clean and lingering sweetness.

Puerh is traditionally enjoyed after rich meals. Research on puerh and components like theabrownin has explored lipid and cholesterol modulation and antioxidant activity. Individual results vary; puerh is not a medical treatment. See references below.
