Phoenix Dancong Magnolia Scent, also known as Yu Lan Xiang in Chinese, is a highly fragrant Dancong oolong tea from Phoenix Mountain in Chaozhou, China.
“Dancong”, refers to an individual tea plant (single bush) cultivated from a variety of Shui Xian cultivars. As the sub-varietals of Shui Xian cultivars grown in the region have very different characteristics in terms of leaf and tree shape, teas made from different individual shrubs happened to develop very distinctive aromas and flavour profiles from one to the other, which explains why the oolong teas produced in the region are called as “Dancong Oolong”.
