About

Jin Jun Mei (Golden Eyebrow) | 金駿眉

Jin Jun Mei, or “Golden Eyebrow,” originates from Tongmu Village (Tong Mu Guan) in the Wuyi Mountains of Fujian—the historic cradle of Lapsang Souchong (Zhengshan Xiaozhong). Grown in a protected high‑mountain ecosystem with rocky soils and cool mists, all teas from this region enjoy superior natural conditions, with a long tradition of tea craft combined with unique soil and growing conditions giving this black tea a special taste. Jin Jun Mei is a very recently developed tea that has quickly gained huge popularity and often considered the luxury version of Lapsang Souchong, which is crafted almost entirely from tiny spring buds covered in golden down, with a more pronounced honey flavour, and picked more than 1500 meters above sea level.

Processing follows the orthodox Wuyi black‑tea method similar to Lapsang Souchong but without pine‑smoke drying, emphasizing slow withering, careful rolling, and controlled oxidation to capture a pure honey‑malt fragrance. In the cup, expect layers of acacia honey, malt, cocoa nib, caramel, and dried longan. The liquor is silky and viscous, delivering a lingering, throat‑coating sweetness and a clean, warming finish.
